Learning to Play Guitair

EDTC 300, Learning Project

It has been such a tough thing to try and decide what I want to learn over the course of this semester for EDTC 300. Then I realized, that I have resources right in front of me for a project in which I have been wanting to take on for years! For my learning project, I have decided to learn to play guitar. My boyfriend is a musician (an extremely talented one at that) and I have asked him to assist me in my journey to learn to become at least an “okay” guitar player. Of course my main studies and practices will be coming from online programs and videos, however he will also be helping me a few times a week as he is the one who owns a guitar and knows how to play it. I plan to make at least one post a week, perhaps even more, depending on when a come to hitting a goal, or have some struggles in my learning journey. These posts will come in the forms of either written blog posts or vlog posts (videos). My goal is simply to allow myself to learn as much as I possibly can! Wish me luck in this journey!

The guitar is being polished so here is a picture of the amp I will be using alongside of it:

  1. It’s so cool that you get to involve your boyfriend in your learning project. Awesome too that you don’t have to purchase a guitar or sheet music because that can get expensive. Looking forward to seeing your progress!

  2. Awesome! I think it would be so cool if you could take what you learn and use it in the classroom! Whether its making a song with the students and you playing guitar, having them create their own learning journey, or just playing it here and there for your students!

  3. Yes, Alyssa! Woo! I support this learning project, and I am excited to see your progress at the end of this. Fingers crossed you’ll become a famous guitar-playin’ machine. I think knowing an instrument is a great skill to have, and maybe once you’re skilled enough you can teach me! Ha!
